School Librarians of The Southern Tier - East

 Located in South Central New York State and encompassing Broome-Tioga, Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego, and Otsego Northern Catskills BOCES, the School Librarians of the Southern Tier - East is a Round Table of the New York Library Association.

Our purpose is to (1) promote an exchange of ideas and experiences to solve the problems of our profession so that we can better serve our individual school library media centers and the work of our schools, (2) promote awareness among school administrators and teachers of the importance and scope of what school library media centers can offer to the school program, (3) elevate the status of our profession and the individual members of the Association, (4) stimulate closer relationships with the Section of School Librarians of the New York Library Association (NYLA/SSL) and other professional groups, and (5) promote professional excellence among our members through program activities that offer an opportunity for continuing education or enrichment.
